Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how PlayMarkd ("the app") handles information when you use the app.

PlayMarkd is developed and operated by Davis Miyashiro.

Information You Provide

The app allows you to organise and track video games and related information.

Information that you enter into the app, such as games you save, ratings, statuses, notes, or other preferences, is stored locally on your device unless a feature explicitly states otherwise.

The app does not currently require you to create an account or provide personal information such as your name, email address, or phone number.

Game Information and IGDB

The app uses the IGDB API, a service provided by Twitch, to retrieve information about video games. This may include game titles, descriptions, release dates, platforms, genres, companies, ratings, and artwork.

When the app requests game information or performs a game search, information necessary to fulfil that request is communicated with IGDB/Twitch.

The app does not intentionally send your name, email address, or other directly identifying account information to IGDB.

Game information and artwork displayed through IGDB may be subject to the terms and policies of IGDB, Twitch, and the relevant rights holders.

Crash and Diagnostic Information

The app uses Firebase Crashlytics, a service provided by Google, to identify crashes, errors, and technical problems and to improve the reliability of the app.

When a crash or other diagnostic event occurs, Firebase Crashlytics may automatically collect technical information including:

crash reports and stack traces;
relevant application state at the time of a crash;
app version and application identifiers;
device model and technical device information;
operating system name and version;
Crashlytics and Firebase installation identifiers;
the time at which a crash or diagnostic event occurred; and
diagnostic logs or other technical information associated with the crash.

This information is used for crash reporting, debugging, and improving the stability and performance of the app. I do not use Crashlytics data for advertising or to build profiles about individual users.

Advertising and Privacy Choices

Some versions of the app may offer optional rewarded advertisements provided by Google AdMob. Depending on your device, region, consent choices, and the type of advertisement served, Google and its advertising partners may process information such as your IP address or approximate location, device or advertising identifiers, interactions with the app and advertisements, and diagnostic information. This information may be used to provide, measure, personalise, and protect advertising.

Where required, the app uses Google's consent-management tools to request your choices before advertising data is processed. You may be able to review or change those choices through the privacy options provided in the app.

Purchases

Some versions of the app may offer an optional one-time purchase. Payments are processed by the store through which you obtained the app. PlayMarkd does not receive your full payment-card details.

The app uses RevenueCat to manage purchases, restoration, and access to purchased features. RevenueCat may process an anonymous app user identifier, device and operating-system information, purchase or transaction information, store receipts or purchase tokens, and entitlement status for those purposes.

Third-Party Service Providers

The app uses, or depending on its version and enabled features may use, the following third-party services:

IGDB / Twitch Used to provide game information, metadata, and artwork.

Firebase Crashlytics / Google Used for crash reporting, diagnostics, and improving app stability.

Google AdMob and consent management Used to provide and measure optional rewarded advertising and manage applicable privacy choices.

RevenueCat Used to manage purchases, restoration, and access to purchased features.

These providers may process information according to their own privacy policies and terms. Their processing may take place on servers located outside your country of residence.

I do not sell your personal information for money. Information may be shared with the service providers described above when needed to provide their services, subject to your choices and applicable law.

Data Retention

Information stored locally by the app remains on your device until it is removed through the app, the app's data is cleared, or the app is uninstalled, depending on the type of information.

Diagnostic information collected by Firebase Crashlytics is retained according to Google's and Firebase's applicable retention policies.

Advertising, consent, and purchase information processed by Google, applicable advertising partners, app stores, or RevenueCat is retained according to their respective policies and legal obligations.

I do not maintain a separate server-side user account containing your locally stored game lists, ratings, or other locally stored app information unless a future feature explicitly provides such functionality.

Data Security

Reasonable measures are taken to protect information processed by the app. Communications with third-party services are transmitted using secure network connections where supported by those services.

However, no method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Your Choices and Rights

You can remove locally stored app information by using available app controls, clearing the app's storage, or uninstalling the app, as applicable.

Where advertising privacy options are required and available, you can use the app's privacy options to review or change your advertising consent choices.

Depending on where you live, you may also have rights relating to personal information processed about you, including rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or information about how your personal information is processed.

Information processed independently by third-party providers may also be subject to the privacy controls and rights mechanisms provided by those services.

Links to Other Websites and Services

The app may contain links to third-party websites, stores, or services. When you follow a third-party link, you are interacting with a service that I do not operate. I am not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those third parties, and you should review their privacy policies where appropriate.

Children's Privacy

PlayMarkd is not specifically directed at children under the age of 13.

I do not knowingly request or collect directly identifying personal information from children through the app. If you believe that a child has provided personal information directly to me, please contact me so that I can investigate and, where appropriate, delete that information.

Third-party services used by the app may process technical information as described in this Privacy Policy and according to their respective privacy policies.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example when features are added, third-party services change, or legal requirements change.

Any updated version will be published on this page with a revised effective date. Where appropriate, significant changes may also be communicated through the app.
