Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern your use of PlayMarkd ("the app"), developed and operated by Davis Miyashiro. By using the app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

What the App Does

PlayMarkd helps you save, organise, track, and rate video games. You can add games manually, capture links from other apps, and search for game information. Some features need an internet connection or a third-party service. Features may vary by device, platform, region, and app version.

Your Content and Local Data

You are responsible for the game lists, ratings, notes, links, and other information you add to the app. Please do not use the app to store or share content that is unlawful or infringes someone else's rights.

Your backlog and other information you enter are currently stored locally on your device. You are responsible for maintaining any device backups you want. Clearing app data or uninstalling the app may delete local information. The app does not currently provide an account or cloud backup service.

Game Information and Third-Party Services

Game data and artwork are provided by IGDB.com and may also belong to game publishers or other rights holders. They are shown for information and identification. Availability, accuracy, and completeness can change. PlayMarkd does not grant you rights to reuse third-party artwork or data outside the app.

Links you save or open may lead to services that PlayMarkd does not operate. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms and policies.

Purchases and Lifetime Access

Some versions of PlayMarkd may offer a one-time lifetime entitlement. The purchase screen will show what is included and the price before you confirm the purchase. A lifetime entitlement does not renew and does not require cancellation.

A lifetime entitlement is a non-consumable digital purchase. It is billed and managed by the Apple App Store or Google Play under that store's applicable terms and is associated with the store account used to buy it. Subject to the store's systems and applicable law, the entitlement remains available after reinstalling the app or moving to another supported device using the same store account. Use the app's restore-purchases option if needed.

The store handles payment, receipts, and refund requests under its policies and applicable law. RevenueCat may be used to manage purchase status, restoration, and access to purchased features. Contact dev.miyashiro@gmail.com if you need help with access to a purchase. PlayMarkd does not plan to offer auto-renewing subscriptions under this model.

Optional Rewarded Advertising

Some versions of PlayMarkd may allow a user who has not purchased the lifetime entitlement to watch an optional rewarded advertisement to receive limited access to an IGDB search. The ad is not required to use the rest of the app, and declining or failing to load an ad does not remove manually available features.

Rewarded advertising is provided through Google AdMob. The Privacy Policy explains the relevant data practices and privacy choices. Availability, frequency, and reward rules may change.

Appropriate Use

Please do not interfere with the app or its services, attempt to bypass access controls or paid features, or use automated requests in a way that disrupts game search or other services.

Availability and Changes

I may update, pause, or discontinue features, including third-party integrations, as the app develops. I will take reasonable care when making changes that affect paid access and will honour any rights you have under applicable law. I may update these terms; the revised version will be published here with a new effective date. Material changes may also be communicated in the app where appropriate.

Disclaimers and Liability

The app is provided with reasonable care and skill, but uninterrupted availability and error-free game information cannot be guaranteed. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limits your statutory consumer rights.

Privacy and Store Terms

The PlayMarkd Privacy Policy explains how information is handled. Your use of the app is also subject to the terms of the store from which you obtain it. For apps obtained from the Apple App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies unless a custom license agreement is provided in App Store Connect. These Terms of Use provide additional information about the PlayMarkd service and do not replace that license agreement.
